For the opening night of the Paralympic Games Wed 29th September the Aylesbury Churches Network teamed up with a range of partners from across the UK and beyond to stage a massive free community festival. 

It took place at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the home of the Paralympics.  It provided opportunities for people to try out Paralympic sports offering a number of activity zones, including ‘multi sensory’ and ‘arts’, and a big screen to  show all the live action from the first night of competition in London.  There was also a free BBQ. 

Most importantly, the event celebrated the core values of the Paralympics and the way in which they chime so clearly with our Christian faith.
